The ESKE team has completed the setup of the new VETS servers necessary to host the future SGF Gateway infrastructure. Software components were installed on 5 machines and included:
o Database clusters to support the VETS operational and development systems, including automatic database backups
o The Globus Grid middleware, including GSI security infrastructure, GridFTP servers, and MyProxy servers
o The BestMan software for deep storage files retrieval
o Two web applications: the prototype ESG Gateway, and the prototype NCAR OpenID Identity Provider.
Ultimately the VETS hardware will host all middleware necessary to support all VEST web portals projects including CADIS, CDP, VSTO, TIGGE, GIS, and others, and will include a community machine to support the scientific activities of universities and other collaborators.
